American will become a better land with civically engaged citizens who because they know and understand how a representative democracy works, regularly engage in the electoral process.  They will possess the skills, passion and desire to peacefully advocate for and / or against issues that are important to them; and have the confidence to challenge, confront and hold their elected officials accountable when necessary.
